OUR ORCHARD![]() While our property already features several wild apple trees, we expanded our orchard in April 2024 by planting 47 new trees representing 12 different varietals. Our goal is to transition our hard ciders to be not only produced on-site, but also crafted from estate-grown fruit. We chose American Heritage apple varieties, which are ideal for cider making thanks to their naturally high levels of both tannin and brix (the sugar that yeast converts into alcohol during fermentation). It’s often not the picture-perfect apples that make the best cider, but the imperfect ones that press into something truly exceptional. Check out the apple tree varietals we have planted below:
Our property is also home to several pear trees that have been here since before the Roush family planted the vineyard in 2012. After being left untouched for many years, our winemaker, Chaz, was eager to put them to good use. In September 2024, we celebrated our first pear harvest and crafted a delicious pear cider. Since then, we’ve continued harvesting and experimenting with new creations each season. |
